SARGENT DX320-12 DC-DC 20AMP 12V 3 STAGE CHARGER

This unit takes power from the vehicle battery and alternator, to provide a rapid multi-stage charging of a leisure battery. It is particularly useful when the base vehicle is fitted with a smart alternator, such as Euro6 vehicles. The charger can provide up to 20 amps to the leisure battery and uses a 3-Stage profile to ensure fast, efficient charging during driving. The unit can be configured for most leisure battery types, including Lead Acid, Gel, AGM & LiFePO4 (We advise checking compatibility with your battery manufacturer before installing) The charger also features a rugged extruded casing with intelligent fan cooling to reduce noise. BOOST FLOAT Multi-Stage charging – 3-Stage profile maximises charge into the leisure battery Vehicle battery protection – charging is automatically reduced to avoid over-discharge Selectable battery types – optimised for Gel, Lead Acid, AGM, LiFePO4 & Lithium lon Charging indicators – clearly display charging status Temperature compensation (optional) – automatically adjusts charging rate depending on temperature Quiet operation – from intelligent fan cooling Fully protected – built-in overload, short circuit & over temperature protection When installing the DX320 it is good practice to keep cabling as short as possible! Do not underate the cable as this will lead to excessive voltage losses and reduced performance. Under full load the charger will draw a large amount of current and the input side will typically draw larger currents than the output by a factor of upto 25%. please refer to the table (found here) to select a suitable wiring gauge, length and recommended fuse rating WHAT THE DX320 DOES: This DC-DC charger takes power from the vehicle battery and alternator, to provide rapid multi-stage charging of a leisure battery. The battery is more fully charged than using traditional relay systems and any voltage losses in cabling are reduced. An engine running input ensures the charger is compatible with both smart and standard alternators and selector switches provide the optimum charging profile for most battery types.
